
Salt Lake County UtahSalt Lake County Utah is the most populous county in the state. As of 2007, the population was around at 1,009,518. It was named for the Great Salt Lake nearby. It occupies a valley and is surrounded by majestic mountains on three sides, the Oquirrh Mountains to the west and the Wasatch Range to the east and south. In addition, the Great Salt Lake is partially within the northwestern section of the county. The county is famous for its ski resorts, and Salt Lake City which hosted the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. |
